FUN FACTS ABOUT CORN

The corn plant belongs to the Gramineae family, and it originally comes from Central and South America. Since ancient times, it has been cultivated in the Mexican valley of Tehuacàn and it was introduced in Europe only after the discovery of America in 1492.
Corn is the star of most dishes in Central America, among which are pozole, tortillas, tacos and drinks like atole and champurrado.
